Plotts are descended from German “Hanover hounds”. Brought to the US by an immigrant, they were settled in the mountains, where Plotts hunted bears and wild boar. Plotts are noted for their stamina, endurance, and determination as hunters. They are agile climbers, often treeing their prey.
